Volpe’s Last Kiss Kiss

Not to be outdone in the mixology department, my husband put together this Thunderball-inspired concoction guaranteed to make your evening go with a bang bang.

Fiona Volpe is many people’s favourite femme fatale of the whole Bond series. Her use of sex as a tool of her trade rivals Bond’s own. That’s why my husband settled on the Pornstar Martini as his starting point for this drink inspired by the flame-haired siren.

Volpe meets her end on the dance floor of the Kiss Kiss Club, shot in the back by her own men while dancing with Bond.

To recreate this moment in cocktail form you will need:

60ml British vodka (for Bond)

40ml Prosecco (representing actress Luciana Paluzzi’s Italian nationality)

30ml Dead Man’s Fingers passion fruit rum (the Caribbean nightclub setting)

A touch of blue Curaçao (representing her blue dress she’s wearing at the fatal moment)

1 tbsp lime juice

1 tbsp agave syrup

Combine the vodka, passionfruit rum, lime juice and agave in a cocktail shaker with large ice. Stir vigorously for around a minute. Strain into a cocktail glass and tip in the Prosecco.

Finally, pour the Curaçao down the side of the glass (it should sink without much difficulty).

Drink slowly unless you want to end up having to sit out the next dance.
