Like its namesake, both frugal and classy simultaneously.
1 measure Scotch/bourbon whatever
1 measure sherry (sweet, or add some sugar syrup if using dry)
1/2 measure white vermouth
Shake with large ice. Strain, discarding ice.
Add 1 egg white.
Shake again.
It might look like a real ale but it tastes somewhat refined.
