Interviewing Herr Stamper

It was a sheer delight to interview actor Götz Otto, best known to Bond fans as henchman Mr Stamper in Tomorrow Never Dies. He’s even more entertaining in real life!

Götz shared with us the full story about his Tomorrow Never Dies audition and brilliant behind the scenes and off-the-set anecdotes, many of which haven’t been heard before.

We also talk about his work with Spielberg on Schindler’s List, being cast as Nazis (Downfall, Iron Sky), his roles in Cloud Atlas (another of my favourite films) and how he went about playing a ‘seductive’ incarnation of Shakespeare’s Richard the Third.

It only takes me 45 minutes to address the elephant in the room and ask the burning question we all want answered:

“What’s it like being really hot in a Bond film?”
